Job Summary

Combine data-driven decision-making with tried-and-true project management practices to analyze and address the complex issues clients face. Make sure solutions are tailored to fit the organization's unique business needs. Break down problems, understand the scope of the impacted area, ensure clear expectations, and lay the foundation for future success. Create a multifaceted approach, establish goals and measures to gauge success, and use information gathered from cross-functional teams to develop project plans and execution goals. Transform the way work gets done and confirms all parties are involved in the change. Assess results, validate against initial goals, look for improvements, and transition project. Typically report to the head of a unit/department within the client’s organization and a TokuSaku Shihan (manager). May work in the greater Seattle area, fully remote, or in a hybrid capacity depending on client needs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Be proactive in getting to know team members and managers. Navigate the cultural and political environment.

  • Identify the true scope of the project and manage changes as the project progresses.

  • Apply understanding of fundamental industry knowledge to strategic issues.

  • Work with leads and staff to initiate and execute projects, monitor progress, discuss creative solutions, and aid in issue resolution and risk mitigation.

  • Identify issues and form hypotheses and solutions, presenting findings and recommendations to clients. Implement solutions, evaluate results, and provide support.

  • Coordinate with project team members and resource managers (as appropriate) on the plan, schedule, resources, task assignments, scope, budget, and risks.

  • Lead formation of quality deliverables, including the project plan, schedule, status reports, meeting minutes, issue logs, and other project management documentation.

  • Facilitate project meetings focused on status reporting, problem resolution, and feedback, fostering open communication within the team on project planning and execution.

  • Report schedule, budget, and delivery details to project stakeholders.

  • Deliver on the statement of work (SOW) and address concerns with the client, if needed.

  • Continually assist clients by identifying additional project leadership, business transformation, or technology solutions needs.

  • Participate in TokuSaku internal and recruiting events, as well as team volunteering opportunities approximately once per quarter. 

  • Carry out other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.

SENIOR LEVEL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with business sponsors, project managers, product development managers, and other stakeholders to develop and review project proposals to determine project goals and launch departmental and enterprise-wide project initiatives. 

  • Manage a cross-functional team and confidently engage with c-suite and director-level employees.

  • Maintain focus on the clients’ long-term profitability. Perform rigorous analysis to identify potential value-creating opportunities.

  • Lead facilitated sessions.


Qualifications

Education

  • Required

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a related area

    • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or similar certification

  • Desired:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field

    • Lean, Six Sigma, Project Management Professional (PMP), and Agile certifications

Experience

  • Required:

    • 4 years of experience in project management

    • Supported other project managers as part of a team

    • Ran small, simple projects with oversight

    • Worked with a project budget

    • Saved company money through project results

  • Desired:

    • 5+ years of experience in project management

    • Managed a project team

    • Ran large, complex projects without oversight

    • Ran 5+ projects simultaneously

    • Worked with a project budget of $250k+

    • Saved company $150k+ through project results

    • Process Improvement experience

    • External consulting experience

    • Experience managing projects in multiple industries

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Required:

    • Strong interpersonal communication skills.

    • Think analytically and effectively solve problems.

    • Use the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) or Six Sigma knowledge to manage projects successfully.

    • Desire to be mentored by experienced professionals and grow into more complex and strategic engagements within 2-3 years.

  • Desired:

    • Coaching and mentoring skills

    • Process Design abilities

    • Resource Planning knowhow

    • Facilitation skills
