Job Summary

Review, analyze, and evaluate client business systems and user needs. Gather, translate, and document requirements. Define scope and objectives and formulate systems to facilitate overall business strategies.  Help clients define current and future state processes and conduct risk assessments. Review and maintain company data and provide guidance on data schemas best-serving client operational needs. Rely on well-rounded experience and expert judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Translate between technological development and business operations to produce high-quality results. Participate in test plan development. Typically report to a manager or head of a unit/department within the client’s organization and a TokuSaku Shihan (manager). May work in the greater Seattle area, fully remote, or in a hybrid capacity depending on client needs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage time, prioritize work, multi-task across many assignments, and create deliverables despite ambiguity and limited direction.

  • Conduct stakeholder interviews and workshops to ascertain requirements.

  • Analyze work procedures and recommend changes to improve the effectiveness of the organization's management.

  • Synthesize acquired knowledge of client processes into IT system requirements to support ongoing operations.

  • Utilize solid technical writing skills to produce clear and concise project and process documentation.

  • Work effectively as a cross-functional team member and confidently engage and communicate with employees at all levels.

  • Perform detailed research and reporting duties as assigned. These may include data analysis and visualization, as well as presenting.

  • Carry out other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.

Qualifications

Education

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a related area

  • Desired: Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Lean, and Six Sigma certification(s)

 

Experience

  • Required:

    • 3-5 years of experience as a business analyst or in a similar role

  • Desired:

    • Some exposure to process improvement and project management

    • Some consulting experience

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.

  • Think analytically to effectively solve problems.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Tools (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Visio) and Windows 10.

  • Gather and interpret relevant data and information.

  • Define and document workflow models.

  • Willingness to question institutional assumptions

  • Desired: Use the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK) to contribute to projects. 

  • Desired: Advanced skills/expertise with Microsoft Excel.
